Adding your customers to Faire allows you to store contact details, reach specific audiences, and send outreach directly from your Faire portal.
Retailers will be automatically added to your Customers page when they place an order with you, or if they are already on Faire and engage with your Faire Direct tools. You can also add your customers individually, through a Mailchimp import, or by uploading a CSV. Once added, you can easily send targeted and relevant outreach to your customers through email Campaigns, Automations, or Messenger.
The features below require you to upload others’ data into the Faire platform. Please see our best practices and Privacy Policy for guidance on using this feature appropriately. Faire will never share your retailers’ contact information or use the information you add to contact your customers without their permission.
How do I add customers in bulk using a CSV?
You can upload multiple customers at once by uploading a CSV file:
- Go to your Customers tab, and select Add Customers.
- Choose Upload CSV.
- Download the pre-formatted template to ensure your file matches the required format.
- Add your customer data to the file. For a successful upload, each row must include an email address with no additional characters included. You can only add one email address per row. Only include name, email address, and store name (optional)– don't add any additional columns.
- Upload your completed CSV file.
You'll be notified if any rows need correcting, or if we can't identify the column names. Our system will automatically filter out any duplicates in your file, so if you have already uploaded a customer contact in your portal, it will be filtered out of future uploads.
How do I add my customers individually?
If you only need to add a few customers:
- Go to your Customers tab, then select Add Customers.
- Choose Add individually.
- Enter your customer’s information.
- Select Save.
How do I import customers from Mailchimp?
You can import existing audiences from your Mailchimp account.
1. On Faire, go to your Customers tab, then select Add Customers.
2. Choose Mailchimp Import.
3. Log in to your Mailchimp account.
4. Select the audience you want to import.
Your selected contacts will be added to your Customers list.
How do I delete customers from my list?
You can delete customers both individually and in bulk.
To delete a single customer:
- Go to your Customers tab.
- Search for the customer.
- Open their profile, then select Delete.
To delete multiple customers:
- Go to your Customers tab.
- Select the checkboxes next to the customers you want to remove.
- Select Delete in the action bar.
How do I contact my customers?
Once you've added customers to your Customers tab, you can filter and select contacts, then send them an email campaign directly from the tab.
For step-by-step instructions on creating and sending campaigns, visit Sending email campaigns through Faire. To organize customers into targeted audiences, visit Creating a custom email segment. After scheduling your first outreach, you'll have the option to set up automated follow-ups. For more information, see What are Email Automations?
How should I maintain my customer list?
It's important to only contact customers you have an existing relationship with, who are still in business, and who are likely to want to hear from you. Before uploading or emailing your customer list, make sure to:
- Remove any inactive or irrelevant email addresses before uploading.
- Cross-reference your list against your own unsubscribe list and remove anyone who has asked not to be contacted.
- Never upload purchased or scraped email lists. These hurt your campaign performance and can result in temporary or permanent suspension of your email privileges. This is also strictly prohibited in regions that adhere to GDPR compliance, and is enforced by our email delivery service. If you are suspended or banned, it is at the discretion of our third-party email delivery service and not in Faire’s control.
Your Customers list can hold up to 250,000 contacts. If you reach that limit and want to add new customers, you'll be prompted to remove old or inactive emails first.
What happens if my emails have high bounce or spam rates?
We use a third-party email delivery service to send your invite emails, marketing campaigns, and automations. This service monitors delivery rates for high bounce and spam reports.
If your emails generate excessive bounces or spam complaints, typically caused by low-quality or unvetted contact lists, your email marketing tools may be blocked. Suspensions are enforced by our email delivery service and aren't within Faire's control to reverse.
