Once a customer places an order with you on Faire or you upload them, all of their information will be available in one convenient location–your Customers page. Below, we'll guide you through the customer information you’ll find in your portal and how to use it for segmentation and analysis.

Filtering your customers and creating segments
If you want to create segments for email marketing or analyze specific sets of customers, you can use filters to do so. On your Customers page, click Filter and choose from the available filter options. You can use filters on their own, or combine them to create a custom filter. For more information on how to turn filters into an email segment, please visit Creating a custom email segment.
The following filter options are available:
- All Contacts: Your master list, where you can view both your current and prospective customers in one place.
- Abandoned Cart: Includes customers who have added products to their cart but haven't completed the checkout process. You can further filter these customers further by the total value of their cart and the date their cart was last modified.
- Order History: Sort customers by their purchasing history with you including whether they’ve ordered from you before, the date of their first and last order, their total number of orders, and order volume with you on Faire. You can even filter by specific products or product types they've purchased.
- Custom Tags: Includes custom tags you've assigned via the Customer page or through the Bulk Upload tool. For more information, please see Adding Custom tags.
- Store Details: Filter customers by store type and location.
- Contact Info: Find customers by their contact details, such as name, email address, and preferred language.
- Relationship Details: View customers by their Faire account status (whether they're on Faire or not), relationship type (Faire Direct, Marketplace, or not yet determined), and source (how the customer was added, e.g., via the Faire Direct app or manual upload).
- Faire Direct Referral Offer: Sort customers by their eligibility for the Faire Direct referral offer, as well as their free shipping expiration date. To learn more about the benefits of Faire Direct, including free shipping and shopping credit, visit What is Faire Direct?
- Free Shipping: View a customer’s free shipping status, along with their Insider status.
- Campaign Activity: View customers’ campaign activity, including email delivery status, last contact date, and the date they last clicked on an email.
- Exclusivity: Filter by a customers’ exclusivity status with your brand.
- Review Status: View whether or not a customer has left a review for your shop.
You’re able to maintain data for up to 250,000 customers in your Customers list. After you reach 250,000 customers, you will be prompted to remove any old or inactive contacts before uploading any additional customers.
Adding Custom tags
If you want to be able to organize customers by data or labels that aren’t available in Faire (such as retailers you met at trade shows), you can add custom tags to individual customers or upload them in bulk.
To add tags in bulk:
- Go to your Customers page
- Click Add customers in the top right corner
- Select Upload CSV and download the CSV upload template
- Add your custom tags in the designated column of the template
- Follow the steps to upload your CSV
To add tags to individual customers:
- Go to your Customers page
- Click into the customer that you’d like to tag
- Look for the Tags section on the right side
- Type in a new tag or select from tags you’ve already used
If at any time you would like to remove a custom tag, you can do so in the same place.
How to customize the columns in your Customers table
If you’d like to modify the information displayed in your Customers table, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to your Customers page.
- On the right-hand side, select the gear icon, and choose Edit columns
- Select the data columns you’d like to add, or deselect data columns you’d like to hide from your customer table.
Can I customize which customer information shows in my Customers tab?
Yes! You can choose which columns show in your customer information table. Some of the most frequently used filters are:
- Abandoned Cart: View customers who have built a cart but have not yet placed their order.
- Order history: Set the date of a customer’s last order (for example, Last ordered 60+ days ago) to encourage a reorder.
- Faire Direct referral offer: View which customers have an eligible Faire Direct referral offer.
There are many more filters of information to choose from, and we encourage you to play around with adding and removing columns so that what’s showing in your customers table is most helpful to you.
How do I export my customer data?
If you’d like to download an export of your customer data from Faire, follow the steps below:
- Go to your Customers page.
- Select the checkbox next to individual customers, or utilize the checkbox at the top to select all customers.
- Choose More actions and select Export from the dropdown list
- You’ll be asked to confirm your selection to begin the download.
You’ll receive a pop-up on your browser where you can download the file, and we’ll also email you once the export is complete.
Viewing and editing customer information
From your Customers page, you can click into any of your contacts to see their details, send them a message, create an order, add custom tags, and more. If the retailer is on Faire, their customer details will be pulled directly from their own Faire account, but if the retailer is not on Faire, you’ll be able to edit their contact information by clicking the Edit button in the top right corner. For example, if you’d like to edit the customer’s store name because of a typo, you can enter the new store name and then click Save.
