You can divide an existing order into two separate orders. When you split an order, you specify the quantities of products to move from the original order to a new one.
How do I split an order?
All the order details, including the shipping address and expected ship date, will stay the same. The new order will have a unique order number. To split an order, follow the steps below:
- Select the order you want to split from your Orders page.
- Select Split.
- Enter the number of products you want to move to the new order, or select Move all to move all units of an item to the new order. You must leave at least one unit of one item on the original order.
- Select Create new order.
Your new order will appear in your Unfulfilled tab, where you can update the expected shipping date or make any other desired changes. For more information, please see Can I edit a retailer’s order?
Why is my order split if I didn’t split it manually?
If our system splits an order automatically, it’s because at least one item in the original order has a different ship window. This can happen if the item is a preorder, or if the retailer scheduled a specific ship date for an item at checkout. For more information, please see Fulfilling scheduled orders.
