How do I add my business tax information?

Adding your tax credentials to your account ensures compliance and can help with processing your orders correctly. By providing accurate tax information, you ensure that your purchases are correctly categorized and taxed based on your location and business type.

If you are purchasing products for business use (not for resale), a resale tax ID is not required. However, this means that you will be charged any applicable sales tax on your order.

Retailers in the US

A resale tax ID is required to purchase goods for resale on Faire. To add your resale tax ID to your Faire account:

1. Go to your account Settings.
2. Navigate to the Profile tab.
3. Find the Resale credentials section.
4. Check the checkbox “I am reselling products” and fill out a complete resale tax ID for your state.
5. Save information to your profile.

Purchases made by US based retailers are not charged sales tax on the basis that they are for resale. Retailers are responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax on products they sell to their customers in accordance with their state guidelines.

Retailers in Europe

If you are located in one of the following locations, you can add a value-added tax (VAT) number to your account:

• Austria
• Belgium
• Denmark (excluding Greenland and Faroe Islands)
• Finland
• Metropolitan France
• Germany
• Ireland
• Italy (excluding San Marin, Vatican City, and Livigno)
• Luxembourg
• Netherlands (excluding the Caribbean municipalities/islands such as: Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, Saba, Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten)
• Norway
• Portugal (excluding The Azores and Madeira)
• Spain (excluding territories such as: Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla)
• Sweden
• Switzerland
• United Kingdom (excluding Crown dependencies such as Guernsey, Jersey, The Isle of Man, and the British Virgin Islands, as well as British overseas territories such as Gibraltar)

To add your VAT number to your Faire account:

1. Go to your account Settings.
2. Navigate to the Profile tab.
3. Scroll to the Import duties and taxes section.
4. Enter your VAT number.
   • If you do not have a VAT number, you can select the I don’t have one checkbox.
5. Select Save.

Retailers in Australia and New Zealand

To add your Australian Business Number (ABN) to your Faire account:

1. Go to your account Settings.
2. Navigate to the Profile tab.
3. Scroll to the Import & tax info section.
4. Enter your ABN.
   • If you do not have an ABN, you can select the I don’t have one checkbox.
5. Select Save.

To add your GST ID to your account:

1. Go to your account Settings.
2. Navigate to the Profile tab.
3. Select Yes or No to indicate if you are GST registered.
4. Select Save.

Retailers in Canada

To add your resale tax ID (GST/HST, QST, RST, PST) to your Faire account:

1. Go to your account Settings.
2. Navigate to the Stores tab.
3. Select the store location.
4. Enter your details in the Resale Tax ID section.
5. Follow the prompts to enter the Provincial tax registration number.
6. Select Save.
