When you ship an order on Faire, your shipment may be covered by one of three types of insurance: Ship on your own Insurance, Faire's default shipping insurance or EasyPost insurance.
If you purchase EasyPost insurance, it replaces Faire's default coverage — they don't stack. You'll have one or the other, never both at the same time.
Ship on your own insurance
If you shipped the order using your own carrier account outside of Faire, you’ll need to contact them directly to determine shipping insurance coverage and claims.
Ship with Faire insurance
When you use Ship with Faire, Faire's default shipping insurance is included automatically when you use Ship with Faire to purchase a label and ship your order. There's nothing extra to purchase or opt into. The default insurance amount below applies only if you haven’t purchased EasyPost insurance.
What's covered:
- Orders shipped using Ship with Faire labels
- Coverage up to $100/ €100 per order or the regional equivalent
- Lost, damaged, or missing items reported by the retailer that happen in transit
How it works:
- You ship your order using a Ship with Faire label.
- Insurance is applied automatically — no extra steps needed.
- If something goes wrong, you file a claim directly with Faire
EasyPost Insurance
EasyPost insurance is an optional add-on you can purchase at checkout when creating a shipping label. It's offered through EasyPost, a third-party shipping provider. To learn more about how EasyPost insurance works, visit Protecting your shipment with EasyPost insurance.
What you need to know:
- It's optional. You choose whether to add it when you're shipping an order.
- It replaces Faire's default coverage. If you purchase EasyPost insurance on an order, Faire's default insurance does not also apply. Your coverage for that shipment is through EasyPost only.
- Claims go through EasyPost, not Faire. If you need to file a claim, you'll work with EasyPost directly.
How to opt out of EasyPost insurance?
If you've been purchasing EasyPost insurance and want to use Faire's default coverage instead, uncheck the EasyPost insurance option when you're creating your shipping label. Faire's default insurance will then apply automatically.
Tip: If you're not sure whether you've been using EasyPost insurance, check your shipping receipts for an EasyPost insurance line item. If it's there, you've been opting in.
How can I file an insurance claim for my orders?
If you used Ship with Faire, and selected Protect your shipment with EasyPost, you’ll need to file a claim through EasyPost. For more information, visit How do I file a claim?
If you used Ship with Faire, and didn’t protect your shipment with EasyPost, let us know and a support specialist can assist you with applying our default insurance coverage for applicable orders. The following conditions must be met:
- The retailer submitted a report that items were missing or damaged.
- The issue occurred in transit.
Can I pay to increase the insurance coverage?
Yes, you can choose to purchase a higher coverage insurance through EasyPost on an order, instead of using our default insurance. If you purchase EasyPost insurance, this coverage replaces the default insurance we provide. For more information on how to buy additional insurance, visit Protecting your shipment with EasyPost insurance
You may also be able to ship on your own if your account is eligible for this shipping option. This would allow you to purchase additional shipping coverage through the carrier.
