Social selling is a fast-growing retail channel where retailers sell to customers on social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. Customers can see the products come to life through video, ask questions, and comment if they would like to purchase.
We will continue to prohibit retailers who sell in private spaces where we are unable to verify price parity or provide our brands with a strong understanding of their business. Like our existing retailers, social sellers must have a reseller tax ID, abide by our standard terms of service, and are not permitted to sell on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Poshmark, Cratejoy, Tiktok, or other third-party marketplaces. We will also continue to prohibit retailers affiliated with multi-level marketing companies.
If you do not wish to sell to retailers who exclusively sell on these channels, you may opt out from your Shop Settings page. Simply toggle off “Allow social sellers" (located within the “Online Seller” category). You may change this setting at any time.
What if I already don’t allow online-only retailers?
Online-only refers to any retailer who does not have a physical store, and includes social sellers. If you’ve already toggled off Sell to online-only retailers, then you don’t need to do a thing! Social sellers are a subset of our online-only retailers.
