Boo! Here's another spooktacular Halloween image by Ellen Clapsaddle! Interestingly, when this postcard debuted in the early 1900s, a one-cent stamp was all it took to send this delightful piece of Halloween cheer to its destination within America. Ellen Clapsaddle (1865-1934) was a renowned American artist whose work greatly impacted vintage postcard illustration. With over 3,000 designs, she was pivotal during the Golden Age of Postcards (1890s-WWI), when millions of postcards were printed and mailed. Her art often featured children, floral arrangements, and holiday themes. Clapsaddle's influence also reached U.S. postage stamps, cementing her legacy in postcard illustration. Our prints are suitable for framing or can be used as is for wall display. This product was custom designed and created at our location in Seattle.
