Description
A 1908 postcard featuring black cats, suspended apples, and grinning jack-o'-lanterns creates a festive atmosphere for "Happy Hallowe'en." The apostrophe in Halloween, commonly seen in early 1900s cards, piques curiosity. This punctuation reflects the historical evolution of the term: from "All Hallows' Evening" (the night before All Saints' Day) to "All Hallows' Even," eventually shortened to "Hallowe'en." "Hallow" hearkens to an antiquated term for saint or holy, lending an enchanting layer of historical resonance to the holiday's name. Our prints are suitable for framing or can be used as is for wall display. This product was custom designed and created at our location in Seattle.
