DÉBUT DE LA VIE : John Michael Richardson est originaire de Lafayette, en Louisiane, où il a grandi entouré de musique et de théâtre. Il est diplômé de la North Carolina School of the Arts. BROADWAY ET VOYAGES : Après trois ans passés à Broadway dans la production phare de A Chorus Line, Richardson a décidé d'élargir ses horizons et de parcourir le monde : des camps de réfugiés palestiniens à Israël, en passant par les îles grecques et l'Égypte, John Michael s'est retrouvé en Extrême-Orient, explorant la Chine, Hong Kong, Manille et Bali, vivant avec des tribus dans le nord de la Thaïlande et faisant de la randonnée au Népal. PROCESSUS DE CONCEPTION : À l'aide d'éléments créatifs découverts au cours de ses nombreux voyages, il est retourné à New York et a commencé à concevoir des bijoux à petite échelle. En quelques semaines, son entreprise a décollé. Il a commencé à vendre à des boutiques à travers le pays. Son travail a été diffusé à la télévision nationale et dans de grands magazines. Ses bijoux ont attiré l'attention de célébrités telles que Whitney Houston, Elizabeth Taylor, Christine Ebersole, Shari Belafonte, entre autres.
