What are the requirements to be a Faire+ brand?

In this guide

Faire+ gives you a simple, reliable way to sell to large retail partners that can grow your business. Brands that join Faire+ meet a higher bar for compliance, data quality, and operational excellence. These requirements help ensure that large retail partners can confidently discover, order from, and grow with Faire+ brands.

To qualify as a Faire+ brand, you must meet all of the requirements below and continue to maintain them over time.

Compliance requirements

Faire+ brands must maintain active and verifiable compliance documentation. This includes an active Certificate of Insurance (COI) with coverage of at least $2 million USD, listing Faire as an additional insured party.

Your COI must remain valid at all times. If your insurance expires or no longer meets requirements, your Faire+ status may be paused or removed until compliance is restored.

Why this matters: Enterprise buyers often require proof of insurance before onboarding new suppliers. Maintaining compliance removes friction and delays from large purchasing decisions.

Complete and structured product data

Faire+ brands are expected to provide product information that meets enterprise buying standards.

This includes complete and accurate values for the following product attributes:

  • GTIN or UPC
  • Product weight
  • Product dimensions
  • ”Made in” country

While complete coverage across your full catalog is not required, we strongly encourage it, as it enables large retail partners to review and purchase your products more quickly.

Why this matters: Large retailers rely on structured data to onboard products in their systems, plan logistics, and receive products. Incomplete data can block or delay orders.

Operational readiness

Faire+ brands must demonstrate the ability to reliably support larger order volumes and repeat purchasing.

This includes:

  • The ability to scale production to meet higher-volume orders
  • Consistent order fulfillment and reliable shipping performance
  • Operational readiness is evaluated based on historical performance and ongoing reliability

Why this matters: Large retail partners plan assortments and replenishment cycles in advance. They need confidence that orders will be fulfilled accurately, on time, and at scale.

Trusted partner engagement

Faire+ brands are expected to operate as professional, responsive partners.

This includes:

  • Timely and clear communication with retailers
  • Professional handling of questions, issues, and exceptions
  • A growth-minded approach to long-term partnerships

Trusted partner behavior is assessed holistically and based on retailer feedback.

Why this matters: Enterprise relationships extend beyond single orders. Buyers prioritize suppliers who are easy to work with and invested in mutual growth.

Maintaining Faire+ status

Faire+ status is not permanent. Brands must continue to meet all requirements to remain eligible. If a brand falls out of compliance, experiences sustained operational issues, or no longer meets data standards, their Faire+ status may be reviewed or removed.
