How do order numbers sync between Faire and Shopify?
Faire and Shopify use different order number formats so they won’t appear as a direct match when orders sync between platforms. When a Faire order syncs to Shopify the Faire order number will be listed in the Order Notes section of the synced Shopify order. You can use the customer name, product details, or order date to search in Shopify to locate orders.
Does inventory update in Shopify with order sync?
If you track inventory in Shopify, it is automatically deducted for Faire orders when order sync is enabled, and the product is linked to a corresponding Shopify listing.
When do my orders sync on Shopify?
Your orders will sync with Shopify once the order is accepted on Faire. Our integration will retrieve fulfillment information from Faire and push it to Shopify once each order is marked as fulfilled.
At this time, we cannot pull fulfillment information from Shopify to Faire. This means that, if you mark a Faire order as shipped through Shopify, you’ll need to manually add the tracking information to Faire before we’ll be able to begin the payout process. For more information on how to add tracking information to an order, please see Ship on your own.
How do backorders sync from Faire to Shopify?
Backorders sync differently than a standard order. Backorders sync based on the ship by date assigned to the order on Faire, rather than syncing after being accepted. The ship by date is automatically set to match the restock date you provide when marking an item as backordered.
You can adjust the ship-by date at any time in your Faire portal, and the sync will take place on the ship by date even if shipping details haven’t been entered yet. Backorders must go through the sync process as they can’t be created manually in Shopify.
Why is my backorder not appearing in Shopify?
If your backorder is not showing up in Shopify:
- Confirm that the ship-by date is accurate and has already passed. If the ship-by date has not passed, the order will not sync yet.
-
Ensure the product variants are linked correctly between Shopify and Faire.
Can I see the status of an order sync?
With order sync enabled, you can see the status of the sync on each order from your Faire Orders page.
-
Light Grey: This order will be synced once accepted
-
Dark Grey: This order has been synced
-
Red: This order has issues preventing it from syncing
Does order sync work retroactively?
New orders you receive after enabling order sync are automatically synced after being accepted. Past orders accepted before order sync was enabled will not automatically sync.
Can I undo an order sync?
No, once an order has synced, it cannot be undone or reversed. You can manually adjust the order on Shopify. To prevent orders from syncing automatically, you can turn your Order sync off.
How do I manually sync an order?
You can manually sync your past Faire orders within 90 days of the order being accepted. To manually sync an order you accepted in the last 90 days:
- Go to your Orders tab.
- Scroll to the orders you'd like to sync and select the circle slash icon.
-
Select Sync order.
If the sync icon is missing, confirm:
-

-

Why am I receiving an error about my order sync?
If you receive an error that says This order was placed before your account was connected to Shopify, this means that the order was created before the sync was active. You’ll need to manually sync the order or re-create it in Shopify.
