Our turmeric is a rare, indigenous variety found only in West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya. Its distinct aroma is earthy, musky, and floral. The striking yellow to orange hue comes from the impressively high curcumin content of 7.68%, perfect for culinary and medicinal uses. It is intercropped with ginger, alongside potatoes, black pepper, and native oranges, imparting a distinct bright and bold flavor with mild pungency and notes of ginger and orange. It's versatility is endless, goes well with curries, stews, rice, salad dressings, white chocolate, marinades, teas, lattes, smoothies, and more. The unique terroir of this area, dark acidic soil, cool climate, and plentiful rainfall is what makes this turmeric so potent; if grown in different conditions, its potency is lost.
