About Green Dirt Farm

Green Dirt Farm began with a dream. Founder Sarah Hoffmann, once a doctor at the University of Washington, longed to return to her agricultural roots. Inspired by her childhood on a farm and her Aunt Jean’s gourmet cheese shop, Sarah took the leap in 2002 to start a dairy and craft fine sheep’s milk cheese in Northwest Missouri. More than two decades later, Green Dirt Farm has grown into a thriving business led by Sarah, her daughter Eliza, and a passionate team. Our dedication to humane, sustainable farming has resulted in award-winning cheeses, earning over 100 accolades, including multiple honors from the American Cheese Society. With a retail shop, café, restaurant, and immersive farm experiences, Green Dirt Farm brings people closer to the land and the craftsmanship behind every bite.
