Every cloisonné and hand-painted glass ornament begins as original artwork by artist and founder Kitty Keller, then comes to life through meticulous, time-honored processes passed down through generations. Our cloisonné ornaments are handcrafted using an ancient technique introduced to China in the 14th century. Skilled artisans shape delicate copper wires by hand to form intricate designs, fill each compartment with richly colored glass enamel matched to precise PMS colors, fire the ornament at high temperatures, and finish it in luminous 24k gold. This detailed process may be repeated multiple times to achieve perfection, ensuring no two ornaments are ever identical. Through exclusive partnerships, we proudly support indigenous Chinese artisans and help preserve a 1,000-year-old art form. Kitty Keller Designs is the only boutique in the world offering authentically hand-crafted cloisonné ornaments. Our hand-painted glass ornaments are equally distinctive. Using a rare technique that dates back to the 1600s, artisans paint Kitty’s original designs entirely by hand on the inside of hand-blown glass.
