About Beehive Handmade

Award winning Beehive Handmade is a design studio and metal shop founded by couple, Jim Dowd and Sandra Bonazoli. We started Beehive as a couple of jewelers who wanted to make useful, everyday things that would also bring joy to everyday life. We’ve always believed that functional things should be beautiful, and that traditional crafts can be used in modern ways, and not just remain stuck in the history books. In 1999 we rescued a bunch of antique sheet-metal tools from a factory auction and created a collection of handmade metal housewares; we made the kinds of pieces we would want to use in our home to make it a more warm and beautiful place. Since that time our small team of artisans has been keeping the craft of fine metalworking alive in our New England studio producing housewares, kitchenware, and gifts that are happy, meaningful, and built to last. Our work has been featured in many national publications, exhibited at museums, and has been making customers smile for over 20 years. Read their story
