Account types
When you’re creating an Adyen account on Faire, you will have to select the type of Account either:
- Individual
- Sole Proprietorship
- Company
- Partnership or Association
It is important that you are selecting the right Business type as the information you have to provided as well as the required documents will differ.
You will find below the requirements for each Business type.
To verify an Individual account, Adyen will require:
- Ultimate Beneficial Owner information
- Including Including a valid passport/ID

Bank account listed in the owner's name
To verify a Sole Proprietorship account, Adyen will require:
- Ultimate Beneficial Owner information
- Including Including a valid passport/ID
- Company details
- Including business registration number
- Bank account listed in the owner's name or the business’s name
To verify a Company account, Adyen will require:
- Company details
- Including business registration number
- Ultimate Beneficial Owners information
- Including a valid passport/ID
- Bank account listed in the business’s name
To verify a Partnership account, Adyen will require:
- Partnership details
- Including business registration number
- Ultimate Beneficial Owners information
- Including a valid passport/ID
- Bank account listed in the Partnership’s name

Identity requirements
As part of the deposit account verification process, Adyen requires identification details based on the business type you select. Depending on your company structure and country of registration, ID information may be required for individuals in the following roles:
- Individual
- Sole Proprietor

Organization
- Owner
- Controlling Person
- Signatory

Director
Since the required roles vary depending on your business type and location, please refer to the “Decision Maker” section in your onboarding process. This section outlines which roles you need to provide documentation for.
Note: A single individual may fulfill multiple roles. Ensure all relevant information is submitted accordingly.

Photo ID requirements
To verify your identity, you’ll need to upload a valid, physical photo ID.
Adyen accepts:
- Passport – Upload a clear image of the page showing your photo, details, and machine-readable zone.
- ID Card – Upload separate files for the front and back.

Driver’s License – Upload separate files for the front and back.
Make sure your ID:
- Is valid and not expired
- Has the machine-readable zone visible (if applicable)
- Is a physical document (digital-only IDs aren’t accepted)
File Requirements
Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG, or PDF
Size limits:
- PDFs: 1 KB – 15 MB
- JPEG/JPG/PNG: 100 KB – 15 MB
Only one file per side of the document is allowed.
To avoid delays or rejections, do not upload documents that are:
- Expired or damaged
- Blurry, overexposed, black & white, or illegible
- Screenshots, photos of screens, or printouts
- Pasted into other documents (e.g., Word or PDF)
- Not properly cropped, angled, sideways, or upside down
- Containing multiple documents/sides in one file
- Overcropped or missing parts
Additionally, the details you enter must exactly match the information on your photo ID:
- Date of birth must match exactly
- First name must match either the first or middle name on your ID
- Last name must match the last name on your ID

Bank account requirements
Adyen must verify the existence of your bank account and confirm it is linked to your legal entity. The proof of bank account can be any of the following:
- Bank statements
- Deposit tickets or deposit forms
- Screenshots of your online banking environment
- Official letters issued by a bank
- Cheques
Location-specific documents:
- Relevé d'Identité Bancaire (RIB): bank document in France
- TAMIEYTHPIO: bank document in Greece
The document must show:
- Name of the Account holder
- Account number or IBAN
- Date of issuance visible and dated less than 12 months ago.
- Indicator that the document was issued by a bank, such as the bank logo or the bank name in its bank-specific font.
File Requirements
Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG, or PDF
Size limits:
- PDFs: 1 KB – 15 MB
- JPEG/JPG/PNG: 100 KB – 15 MB
To avoid delays or rejections, please note that Adyen do not accept the following:
- Photos of bank-issued cards, such as credit or debit cards.
- Edited or personalized documents.
- Documents issued more than 12 months ago.
- Documents where required data points are missing.
- Documents with cut-off, blurry, or low-quality images.

Documents issued by third party software platforms or programs.
Additionally, the details you enter must exactly match the information shown on the proof of Bank account :
- Account Number/IBAN must match exactly
- Account Holder: If the name shown on the Business Bank account provided is different from your Company name, please make sure you are listing that name as “Doing Business As” in the Business details section
Double-check your details before submitting to ensure a smooth verification process.
We also recommend that you only link one bank account at a time to Adyen.

Company requirements
Adyen uses the name and registration number to automatically verify your user. In some occasions, Adyen may ask for a registration document
Your company registration document must be issued by one of the following:
- A public authority
- A government agency
- A judicial authority
The company registration document must either:
- Be issued within the last 12 months and show the corresponding issuance date
- Be signed and dated by the entity's authorized signatory within the last 12 months
The company registration document needs to show the legal entity name and the registration number of your company.

Size limits:
- PDFs: 1 KB – 15 MB
- JPEG/JPG/PNG: 100 KB – 15 MB
