We handle payment processing for all orders placed on Faire. Payouts to brands and payments from retailers are handled as two separate transactions.
- Brand payouts: We pay you for each retailer order according to your selected payout option. You can view your payout option within the Payout section of your Account Settings. For more information, visit How much does it cost to sell on Faire if I’m based in North America? or How much does it cost to sell on Faire if I’m based outside of North America?
- Retailer payments: Retailers are charged separately according to their Faire payment terms. Retailers have two payment term options: Payment on shipment and Net 60 payment terms.
Because these are processed as separate transactions, a retailer’s payment status and payment terms do not affect the timing of your payout. This includes situations where the retailer’s bank places a temporary hold on their payment.
Payment on shipment terms
When a retailer's payment option is Payment on shipment, their payment method is charged at the time the order ships. A temporary hold may be placed on the retailer’s card at the time of order to verify funds. This hold is not an actual charge and will be released once the order ships or within 7 days, whichever comes first.
Net 60 payment terms
Eligible retailers who choose Net 60 payment terms, have 60 days to pay after placing an order. Not all retailers qualify for Net 60 payment terms; they must apply and receive approval from Faire to use this option on the platform. If for any reason the order takes longer than 14 days to ship, the retailer’s invoice due date will adjust accordingly. Instead of being due 60 days from the order date, it will be 60 days from the ship date
What payment methods can retailers use?
Depending on the retailers location, they will have the following payment method options:
- Credit or debit: Visa, Mastercard, American Express (US and Canada)
- US bank transfer: available for retailers in the US
- SEPA direct debit: available for intra-European retailers (Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain)
- iDEAL bank transfers: available for retailers based in the Netherlands
- BACS bank transfers: available for retailers based in the UK
- Prepaid cards: available for retailers in the UK using Payment on shipment
- Faire Pay: available for pre-qualified retailers
Payment methods outside of these listed options are not available.
What is Faire pay?
We're testing a Faire-operated payment method called Faire pay. Pre-qualified retailers can use Faire pay to receive a 3% discount on their purchases. Orders paid for using Faire pay are grouped together in a single invoice each month.
Can I handle payments for retailers?
No, brands should not process payments for retailers outside of Faire. If you are having trouble with receiving your order payout, or if you receive a payment from a retailer directly, please contact our team, and a support specialist can help.
What do I do if a retailer has an issue or questions about payments?
If a retailer contacts you about payment questions or issues, please direct them to contact our team, and a support specialist can help.
