Prohibited Items on Faire for Retailers

A brand’s full catalog may not be available on our platform if items violate our product guidelines. We recommend checking your local laws and regulations to ensure items purchased on Faire are permitted to be bought and sold where you do business. The following categories and items are prohibited from being sold on Faire.


Authenticity and Rights

  • Counterfeit products or products that brand’s do not have the right to sell. Faire does not allow products or listings that use a brand’s name, logo, or protected design without the brand owner’s consent or permission, even if up-cycled or repurposed from authentic materials
  • Products sourced from online marketplaces

Weapons and Hazardous Items

  • Firearms/firearm ammunition
  • ​Weapons,​ including knives, explosives, and similar items

Restricted Substances

  • Products containing any amount of alcohol, unless you are based in these following countries only: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland and the UK. To learn more, visit Buying alcohol on Faire
  • Products containing any amount of drugs, including prescription, legal or illegal drugs
  • Products that contain Cannabidiol (CBD) or Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC); this includes products with Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, Cannabis ruderalis, full spectrum hemp oil and rich hemp oil. However, Faire is permitting a limited number of brands to offer hemp-derived CBD products on an invitation-only basis, and may expand this pilot program to additional brands in the future.
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, electronic cigarettes, vape sticks or pens, hookah pipes, smoking blends (including herbal), and other smoking paraphernalia

Hazardous and Unsafe Products

  • Any hazardous, toxic, flammable, biohazardous, unsafe or dangerous products
  • Products containing asbestos or flame-retardant chemicals
  • Any recalled products

Offensive and Culturally Sensitive Items

  • Pornography, including images, videos or other offensive materials
  • Products that are offensive or promote, incite or glorify hate or violence towards any person or group
  • Culturally insensitive products
  • Products related to terrorist organizations
  • ​Confederate flag merchandise​

Digital and Financial Products

  • ​Digital goods, including software
  • Gift cards
  • Currency, coins, cash equivalents, Bitcoin or other similar digital currency
  • Stamps
  • Fine Art​
  • ​Gambling or lottery related items​

Miscellaneous Products

  • Dietary supplements​
  • Any perishable foods (defined as shelf life under 30 days or as required by applicable law, rule or regulation), including meat, fish, vegetables, fruits and dairy products
  • Fur and other materials derived from endangered species, cats, or dogs are prohibited under Faire’s policies and applicable laws. Leather and other non-endangered animal materials are permitted, provided they comply with all local regulations governing the sale of animal products.
  • Children’s car seats or harnesses
  • Used goods

Discretionary Items

  • Any other products that Faire deems inappropriate for the marketplace
