The following categories and items are prohibited from being sold on Faire.
Authenticity & Rights
- Counterfeit products or products that you do not have the right to sell (ex: products that you do not make or that are not under your brand). Faire does not allow products or listings that use a brand’s name, logo, or protected design without the brand owner’s consent or permission, even if up-cycled or repurposed from authentic materials.
- Products sourced from other online marketplaces for resale
Weapons
- Firearms, firearm ammunition, explosives, and related items
- Weapons such as knives marketed for combat, brass knuckles, stun guns, and pepper spray
- Accessories designed for carrying, concealing, or maintaining a weapon
Drugs, Alcohol & Tobacco
- Illegal, prescription, or controlled drugs, including injectable weight-loss medications and syringes
- Drug paraphernalia
- Kava, kratom, and similar psychoactive botanicals
- Products containing more than 0.5% alcohol by volume, unless you are based and selling within select supported countries. To learn more, visit Selling alcohol on Faire.
- Tobacco, vapes, and other nicotine or combustible smoking products.
- Ingestible CBD or THC products. Topical CBD products may be listed by approved brands — see Listing CBD products on Faire.
Dietary Supplements & Cosmetic Claims
- Supplements marketed for rapid weight loss, sexual enhancement, or steroid-like effects
- Topical products that claim to cure or treat a skin condition, falsely claim regulatory approval, or contain prohibited skin-lightening ingredients
Perishable Foods
- Perishable foods that require refrigeration or freezing to ship, unless they have a disclosed shelf life of more than 30 days when properly stored — this includes items like aged cheese, cured meats, and frozen meat and seafood. This doesn't apply to shelf-stable foods, like baked goods or canned goods, even if they list a shorter freshness date.
Used / Second-Hand Goods
- Used, worn, or refurbished goods, including refurbished electronics or appliances. This doesn't include new, unused items in opened packaging, factory samples or display models, genuinely vintage pieces, or items meaningfully transformed into something new, like upcycled goods.
Fine Art
- Original fine art (paintings, drawings, and sculptures) marketed or priced as an investment-grade or collectible piece, rather than as everyday decorative art. This generally doesn't include lower-priced original art, prints, or reproductions.
Children's Products
- Children's car seats and harnesses, and other CPSC-regulated items, including certain crib and sleep products, drawstring garments, and teething jewelry
Hazardous & Recalled Products
- Hazardous, toxic, flammable, or biohazardous products, including asbestos and prohibited flame-retardant chemicals
- Products under an active recall
Offensive Content & Adult Products
- Pornography, or content that exists solely for sexual arousal
- Sex toys that are flesh-toned or anatomically lifelike
- Content that promotes hate or violence toward a person or group, including Confederate flag merchandise and content tied to extremist organizations
- Culturally insensitive products, including content that demeans or targets a protected group
Digital, Financial & Currency
- Digital goods, software, and online courses
- Gift cards, currency, cash equivalents, and cryptocurrency, plus hardware marketed for crypto mining
- Postage stamps
Gambling
- Gambling machines, lottery tickets, and other products tied to real-money gambling or prizes
Animal & Wildlife Products
- Products from endangered or protected species, and cat or dog fur. This doesn't include leather or other animal materials that comply with local regulations.
Other
- Anything else Faire determines inappropriate for the marketplace, or that's prohibited by our payment partners — see the Stripe Prohibited and Restricted Businesses and Adyen Prohibited and Restricted Products lists.
