What is Tom Kha? Tom Kha literally means “cooked with galangal” – “Tom” = cook, “Kha” = galangal. The soup is based on a coconut milk broth flavored with galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, lime juice and fish sauce. Typical ingredients are: • Chicken (Tom Kha Gai) • Mushrooms or tofu • Coriander and lime juice as fresh toppings Taste & character Tom Kha is milder than Tom Yum, but just as complex. It is: • Creamy when made with coconut milk or refreshing when cooked with water • Fresh and lemony from herbs • Tangy from lime juice Why Yak Thai Tom Kha seasoning paste • Truly Thai: We make all our pastes ourselves according to authentic Thai recipes.
