Wholesale Kidston Lighthouse, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

The Kidston Lighthouse built in 1906 is located in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, on Cape Breton Island. It is situated on the shores of the Bras d'Or Lakes, a large inland sea that separates the northern and southern portions of Cape Breton Island. Baddeck is a picturesque town with a rich history and culture. It was the summer home of Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, and his Beinn Bhreagh estate and laboratory are now a National Historic Site. The town is a popular tourist destination, known for its scenic beauty, outdoor activities like sailing and hiking, and its connection to Bell. The Kidston Lighthouse would have been an important navigational aid for ships traversing the Bras d'Or Lakes. Other attractions in the Baddeck area include the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, the Cabot Trail scenic driving route, and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, known for its dramatic coastal landscapes. The sketch depicts the lighthouse standing proudly on the shoreline, with the calm waters of the lake.
