I love the silicone option and the base for it to sit in is wonderful. It's a bit harder to get the water out having to spread the silicone apart and all the seeds fall to the end and you're trying to get them back out of the round portion at the bottom to sprout, but after day 2 it's wonderful. Not a deterrent, just a bit of extra work.
