It vividly captures the historical essence of the "trick" part of "trick or treat," reminding us of the playful, mischievous spirit that has always been a part of Halloween celebrations. Perry Emerson Thompson, known as PET, was a talented staff artist for Lone Scout magazine, which served rural boys without access to traditional Boy Scout troops. PET illustrated the first cover in 1915 and many more until leaving in mid-1923 to pursue a career in advertising. Though little is known about his life, his magazine art remains highly valued by collectors. Our prints are suitable for framing or can be used as is for wall display.
