Alphonse Mucha's 1896 poster captures the tale's essence: the sorrowful heroine leans against a balustrade, surrounded by silver stars, while a white camelia adorns her hair, symbolizing her character's plight. Another camelia, representing death, is held below, contrasting with thorny roses piercing hearts above. This poster became a favorite of Bernhardt's and was featured prominently during her American tours!
