Our Abbruzze Cheese Spread is a spicy spread for the most discerning snacker. With a rich cheddar base for spreading, dipping, or even cooking, this is definitely Philadelphia’s new classic. The Story Our founders, Danny and Joe Di Bruno, hail from Abruzzo, Italy (back of the mid-calf, using the traditional boot model), lending their homeland’s name to many of our favorite products. Sun-dried diavolino (“little devil”) peppers are the ubiquitous seasoning in this region. Though South Philadelphia may be a far cry from the lush pastoral vistas of Abruzzo, Danny and Joe chose to evoke their native seasoning tossing a healthy sprinkle of red chiles into dishes that have become local classics.
