Our savory, sweet Purple Shallot Powder adds umami depth and allium sweetness to myriad dishes, from rice and noodles to stews and braises. The powder is a convenient substitute for fresh shallots — substitute 1 tsp powder for a fresh shallot, or use in place of onion powder in rice or any dish that you'd use fresh shallots in. Shallot powder is a wonderfully versatile ingredient to keep on hand for cooking up traditional Vietnamese and other Southeast Asian dishes, and French, Italian and the many other cuisines in which shallots are highly prized. Cooking Tips: Use in place of fresh shallots in any dish, 1 tsp = 1 fresh shallot Bloom in butter or oil at the start of cooking rice, noodles, sauces, braises, stir-fries and stews Sprinkle as a topping for vegetables

The first B&B spice I tried was cinnamon. I did a direct comparison with grocery store cinnamon, which I smelled and tasted first. On it's own, the grocery store cinnamon seemed quite good - until I then opened the Burlap and Barrel cinnamon. It was shocking what a huge difference there is. Every spice from Burlap and Barrel has been a similar experience. Not only are the spices exponentially more fresh and flavorful, there is a huge selection. The collaborations are also incredible. We LOVE B&B

Oh simply the BEST BEST BEST!!! If you have a foodie following in your store, these spices will fly off the shelves. If you want to DEVELOP a foodie following in your store, then Burlap and Barrel is a MUST HAVE brand. Seriously unlike any spice line we have ever carried. Highly recommend!!
