- Consistency is key. Similar backgrounds will make your images look cohesive across your product line. These should be cropped into a square ratio for best results on our site.
- Showcase your work. Product photography is meant to showcase your product from its best angle. Use images with your products at the center.
Image Size
Minimum size: Square - 600 px by 600 px
We recommend that images are at least 1000px on the longest side so that retailers can zoom in on the details.
Need help resizing your product images into a "square" format? You can choose if your images will appear full-sized or cropped to fit the square while editing your product under your Products tab. For more details on how this can be done, visit How do I add or edit products?
How do I upload high-resolution product images?
To make sure your product images look great on Faire, follow these tips for uploading high-resolution versions.
Use original, high-quality files
We recommend using your original image files whenever possible. Avoid downloading images or screenshots from social media or websites, since those versions are often compressed and lower quality.
If you’ve worked with a photographer or taken your own photos using a phone or camera, be sure to upload the full-resolution files.
Check image resolution
To confirm your images meet the required size:
- On Mac, right-click the image file and choose Get Info
- On Windows, right-click the file and choose Properties, then select the Details tab
Look for the image dimensions. Your images should be at least 600 x 600 pixels. If they’re smaller, you’ll be prompted to upload a higher-resolution version during the product upload process.
What can I do if I don't have high-res product images?
If your current images are too small and you no longer have access to the originals, you have a few options:
- Re-take the photos using a smartphone or camera in good lighting
- Ask your manufacturer, supplier, or photographer for the original high-res files
Avoid enlarging small images using editing tools. This can cause blurriness or pixelation, which can hurt your product’s presentation.
