Place of cultivation: India. Lawsonia Inermis or Henna is a plant whose main characteristic is its pigmentation power. When mixed with hot water, it releases its coppery pigmentation. Henna-based coloring acts as a deposit, meaning that the molecule that allows the coloring is deposited on our hair, and with each application, the tone it provides increases. Since it is a vegetable dye, Henna does not damage the hair, as it does not open the cuticle to modify your natural color, but rather deposits it on top. As a result, Henna does not have the power to lighten the hair. The color that Henna provides is coppery, and the intensity of the coloring it will provide on the hair will depend on the initial tone, so lighter hair will achieve intense copper tones, while brunettes and darker hair will get sunlit highlights.
