WOVEN BASKETS / BACK TO THE ROOTS Back to the roots or a return to our Senegalese roots and the basics of basketry and weaving. The new 2021 EcoMassaya collection pays tribute to these women craftsmen who weave plant fibers according to ancestral traditions. Our stylists set off to discover these artists who perpetuate their knowledge in villages like Thies, Meke, Ngaye or Ndem. Our collection is based both on the tradition of historic Senegalese basketry, fair manufacturing processes and concern for environmental respect. The blend of traditional materials: wicker, rattan, bamboo, rush, is also done with strips of recycled plastic on the beaches. A mixture and assembly that give exceptional rigidity to our entire line of baskets. Finally, some of our products have a soft leather finish assembled by local shoemakers using an ancient Touareg technique. The color ranges from minimalist whites and beiges to Atlantic blues, including PopArt blends can give an unmatched touch to any style of decoration.
