This is a fun and creative way to grow gourmet mushrooms in your own kitchen. I developed these kits as a way for people to learn a little more about growing mushrooms than your standard mushroom kits will teach you, and no special equipment is required. Our kits are small (4" x 7") and fit beautifully on a shelf, but can yield an enormous amount of mushrooms (grow up to 5 buckets of mushrooms per kit!) This kit includes a 5mL mushroom culture, instructions, a glossary of mycology terms, and a fungi word search. The instructions cover two ways of growing them - the first way is to grow them in a bag of pre-cooked rice on your kitchen counter, the second way is to grow them in a bucket of straw or coffee grounds. There is enough culture included to try both methods. Regardless of your growing medium of choice, these are fascinating to grow and delightful to cook with. There's enough culture in each kit to start 5 bags or buckets of mushrooms.
