100% pure and natural essential oil obtained by distillation (steam distillation) of the branches and leaves of Citrus aurantium L. ssp. amara. The Bitter Orange tree or "Bitter Orange" is a tree that bears bitter oranges, also called "bitter oranges," fruits unsuitable for consumption, smaller than sweet oranges, with a thick and rough peel and a bitter and acidic pulp. Formerly called "medlar apple," there are different types of petitgrain essential oils (petitgrain mandarin, petitgrain lemon...) but petitgrain bigarade is only obtained from the branches and leaves of the bitter orange tree (and not from the fruits). The distillation of its flowers produces orange blossom essence or Neroli essence.
