We specialize in translucent porcelain lithophanes. The images are created by light shining through the different thicknesses of thin porcelain panels. Marty Kubicki started The Porcelain Garden in 1982, working out of his garage in Laguna Beach, CA. He learned the subtleties and challenges of porcelain with time, and then he discovered the lost 19th Century art of Lithophanes. He learned the lost secrets of this unknown art, and brought it into the 21st Century with his own design sensibility imbued in a line of beautiful and practical lighting products. His Lithophane night lights have become a timeless line; never out of style, always an appropriate and thoughtful gift, reasonably priced, and with a huge range of styles to fit any taste. Many retailers have carried the Porcelain Garden line for literally decades, (our shop reviews confirm this) and report how they have always been, and continue to be a steady selling line. The Porcelain Garden also offers wall mounted night light displays to their retailers, enabling you to get them up and illuminated with little effort. We typically ship within a few days, except from Oct-Dec, and the Winter and Summer trade show seasons, when it may take up to 2-3 weeks or so for us to ship. Read their story
