It all started in 2005 in Lancaster County, PA, when the founders Ron & Cecille Steele, decided to make some Lemon Curd, a favorite spread of Ron's dating back to his childhood. A small double boiler brought back into service and the first batch was made. Because it was close to the holiday season, we decided to make some for Christmas gifts for friends. They were received with such great enthusiasm that orders were received and, well, as they say, the rest is history. From the very beginning we chose to stay with the 'Traditional' method of making an English Curd using eggs, egg yolks and butter to produce a velvety smooth product that just melts in the mouth. In addition the freshness of the citrus juices and sugars provide the deliciously sweet zesty flavors that are a hallmark of our product. Lemon Curd is the original curd which originated in England in the 18th Century so it is by far the most popular of our flavors which include Raspberry (made from seedless puree), Key Lime, Orange, Passion Fruit, and Cranberry Orange (in the fall season only).
