Sometimes you may receive an order from a Faire employee account, labeled “Faire Employee.” These orders help us test the retailer experience and improve Faire for both brands and retailers. You’ll always be paid in full, and you can choose whether to fulfill or decline the order.
Why did I receive an order from a Faire employee?
From time to time, Faire employees place orders through the platform. This allows our team to step into the retailer role and better understand how Faire works end-to-end so we can continue to improve the experience for both brands and retailers.
What does this mean for my brand?
- No commission charged: You won’t be charged a commission on these orders, and you’ll be paid in full.
- You’re in control: If you fulfill the order, you'll get paid in full for it and help us learn more about the end-to-end retailer experience. If you’d prefer not to fulfill the order, no problem! You can decline without any penalty. This won’t impact your customer service record or Top Shop metrics.
- Improving Faire’s experience: These orders help us identify opportunities to make Faire better for both brands and retailers.
Will I get paid for these orders?
Yes. You’ll receive payment for these orders just like any other order on Faire.
Can I decline these orders?
Yes. Declining will not affect your performance metrics, and there is no penalty for choosing not to fulfill them.
Do I need to collect sales tax on these orders from U.S.-based customers?
No, orders by U.S. based customers are treated as sales directly to Faire and a subsequent sale by Faire to the employees. Faire is responsible for reporting and remitting the sales tax associated with these orders. Faire can provide our resale certificate upon request.
