When you set up your team on Faire, you can assign different roles and permissions for account access.
Account Owner
The account owner is an individual person that uses Faire with full permissions. You can only have one account owner. This person is responsible for all actions and payments on the account.
The account owner can:
- Create a team
- Invite team members and assign roles
- Manage team members checkout permissions
- Place orders
- Deactivate team members
- Transfer account ownership
- Sign up for an Insider membership for a non-refundable monthly subscription fee, agreeing to the Insider program’s terms of service. The default payment method will be charged for all Insider payments
Admin
An admin is an individual person that can add, remove, and edit roles and permissions for all account admins and contributors. Your account can have multiple admins.
Admins can:
- Invite team members and assign roles
- Manage team members checkout permissions, except the account owner
- Place orders
- Deactivate team members, except the account owner
- Sign up for an Insider membership for a non-refundable monthly subscription fee, agreeing to the Insider program’s terms of service. The account owner is responsible for Insider payments from admin, and contributor sign-ups. The default payment method will be charged for all Insider payments
Contributor
A contributor is an individual person that can place orders (if permissions are granted), and submit orders for checkout approval. If you have a buyer for your shop, adding them as a contributor will allow them to place orders and submit them to you for checkout approval. You can also chose to allow them permission to checkout directly. Contributors can’t manage roles or permissions for other team members. You can have multiple contributors.
Contributors can:
- Submit cart for checkout
- If given checkout permissions, they can place orders
- If given checkout permissions, they can sign up for an Insider membership for a non-refundable monthly subscription fee, agreeing to the Insider program’s terms of service. The account owner is responsible for Insider payments from admin, and contributor sign-ups. The default payment method will be charged for all Insider payments

How to manage a member
Only the account owner, or admin roles can manage team members by selecting the user on the Team page. This is where you can adjust the user account type, checkout permissions and status.
