Personalization tags are text identifiers that correspond to specific fields that allow you to personalize your email campaigns and automations.
The tags can be copied and pasted into the Subject Line box and Preview text box to allow for additional customization of your campaigns.
Once your campaign is scheduled to send, any tags specified in the email body, as well as in the subject and preview lines will be replaced by their corresponding field (based on who it is sent to) before the email is sent out.
What information do the tags correspond to?
These personalization tags will pull the following information when added:
| Personalization tag | Field meaning | Default text |
{{shopName}} |
The retailer shop name as listed on Faire |
If there isn’t a shop name in our system, this field will default to “Your store” |
{{customerName}} |
The first name of the retailer as listed on Faire |
N/A - this will automatically pull from the owner name as entered on Faire |
{{faireDirectCredit}} |
The Faire Direct sign-up discount that retailers would currently receive if they sign up for Faire through your link |
N/A - this will automatically pull from your Faire Direct tab |
| {{myBrandName}} | Your brand name as listed on Faire. | N/A - this will automatically pull from your own account. |
How do I use personalization tags in my email campaigns?
Personalization tags can be copied and pasted into the Body, Subject Line and Preview text of your campaign. They will then pull the associated information from the recipient's information in your Customer list on Faire.
As an example, here is an email campaign to a customer with the shop name of The Dog Bakery and owner name of Sam as listed on Faire.
The campaign copy will read as the following when entered into the composer:
Hi {{customerName}},
Get {{shopName}} ready for summer! Browse our summer products that we’ve added to our Faire shop. If you sign up for Faire through this email, you will receive {{faireDirectCredit}} off with my shop on Faire, in addition to other benefits such as a year of free shipping with my store, Net 60 terms, and free returns on your first order.
When the above campaign copy is sent to the customer, the personalization tags will automatically pull the available information as listed on Faire, and will surface as the following to the customer:
Hi Sam,
Get The Dog Bakery ready for summer! Browse our summer products that we’ve added to our Faire shop. If you sign up for Faire through this email, you will receive 50% off my shop on Faire, in addition to other benefits such as a year of free shipping with my store, Net 60 terms, and free returns on your first order.
How do personalization tags work with non-English campaign languages?
Regardless of the language that you are writing your campaign in, the tags must be written out as displayed in the chart above in English. If the tags are translated or adjusted in any other way, they will not pull in any information.
If data is unavailable for a particular customer, tags will be replaced with default value (e.g. your store) in the email campaign’s specified language.
