Dragonflies begin their lives underwater as aquatic larvae. This stage can last for several years, after which they undergo metamorphosis and emerge as flying beings, but for only a few short months. So this image has been titled "Carpe Diem," which literally means to "Pluck the Day" like a ripe fruit.
