For my 2022 for my solo show at Hidell Brooks Gallery, I painted three pops: a yellow, a red and a blue. In my mind, the yellow was lemon, but I don't know if that's what everyone thinks of, so I just called it yellow! This was the first of the three, and I loved trying to capture that icy feel, with the light moving through the ice crystals. But I also thought of my grandpap, who was colorblind and could only see the color yellow. He always thought it was the most beautiful, cheerful color in the world, so whenever I see yellow, I think very happy thoughts. Thanks for looking!
