A traditional tool, the “Mezzaluna,” meaning, “half-moon” in Italian after the curved shape of its blade, is a culinary favorite when it comes to quick, efficient chopping. This wooden-handled tool has twin 5 ½-inch blades and looks like a workhorse. It’s great for chopping garlic and herbs, chocolate, nuts, pizza, and more This is one classic Italian tool that can look a bit medieval and isn’t found in every household. HOW TO USE: You just rock it back and forth to quickly mince whatever food you’re working with. Rock blade side-to-side to chop tender items; use an up-and-down motion to chop larger, more dense items; continue to mince until desired texture is achieved. CARE: Hand wash only.
