This patriotic bone box features a regal spread wing eagle. A great size for a desk or tabletop, the box will easily hold jewelry, keys and keepsakes. A lovely gift or Early American decor for the history buff or nature lover. Begun by sailors working on whaling ships out of New England, scrimshaw may be the only art form that originated in America. Our scrimshaw is created by etching varying designs on genuine ox bone. • Antique reproduction scrimshaw bone box • 6-1/2" x 5" x 2-5/8" • Natural, authentic ox bone tiles inlaid on a durable wood-composite base. • Slight ox bone color variations enhance the beauty and individuality of each box so that no two bone boxes are alike. • Removable lift-off lid and green felt-lined interior. • Etched in USA.
