The leviathan cross is first and foremost the alchemical symbol for sulfur or brimstone. Sulfur is one of the three alchemical primes together with mercury and salt and represents the human soul. This symbol was adopted by Anton la vey for the church of Satan which is secular and atheist - in this respect the double cross represents protection and balance between people, and the infinity sign represents the entirety of the universe making the statement that people are their own center or ultimate truth as opposed to a god.
