TERRA TACTILE: Boro Inspired Quilt Hand Sewn Vintage Japanese Fabric , TERRA TACTILE: Colors of the earth. Sometimes I amass a palette of textiles (all from my source for recycled fabrics in Japan) that pull together into something I hadn't intended. Bed Topper, picnic blanket, baby blanket, wall hanging, wraparound on a cool day. A personal sized quilt, not-machine made at all. I am sewing all my quilts by hand, with a needle and thread now. I have more control and can use a thicker cotton thread for more durability. The vintage sewing techniques I use coupled with the vintage fabric, organic batting make for a very well loved product. One of a kind, every quilt I make is a study in print and pattern, color and texture. The thin heirloom batting gives it warmth. I would line or air dry this one - do not recommend the dryer. I drape them over a railing or clothesline after washing - doesn't take long.
