109 Night Of A Thousand Stars: Vintage Boro Futon Cover Quilt • All Japanese Vintage Fabrics • Indigo • New Restoration & Sashiko Stitching , 109: Night of a Thousand Stars: This is a new endeavor for me, more of a restoration than traditional arrangement of patterns and pieces. The fabric that is on the top/face of this quilt is a vintage futon cover from Japan that was mended and patched in the boro manner when I received it. All the fabric on the top is original as are the patched repairs. In order to stabilize the whole, I mended the frays and holes somewhat invisibly with a lightweight black Japanese sashiko thread and then assembled the layer: top, thin cotton batting and organic muslin on the back. Repeat: I do not recommend using this quilt as a blanket. Dimensions: 68 1/2" x 40 1/2" I do not recommend washing this quilt in a machine or using a dryer. If it needs cleaning it should be done professionally.
