The swirling amber, orange, and white banding inside each stone is entirely natural, formed over millions of years, and the copper grows directly around it in a process that takes days. Why Carnelian Agate Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz, colored by iron oxide inclusions ranging from pale orange to deep red-brown. The banded variety, sometimes called carnelian agate, shows natural white and orange layering formed as silica-rich fluids deposited in ancient rock cavities. Long associated with courage, action, and the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana). It is the birthstone of July and a traditional stone of warriors and leaders. No mystical claims. How This Handmade Carnelian Necklace Is Made Each pendant is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every arrowhead for its color and character, then wrap it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the raw stone edge through an electrical process, forming the organic border you see. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every piece from this studio is one of a kind.
