Laborde is a Toronto based creative jewelry label. Founded in 2009, this handmade jewelry label draws inspiration from modern design and the ancient past. Where curiosity, experimentation and inspiration collide. Kristen Laborde is the founder and designer of Laborde jewelry. Born and raised in Toronto Canada. Laborde Graduated from Guelph University with a geography BA. Driven by adventure and curiosity, Laborde has travelled to many parts of the world and has lived in various countries all along drawing inspiration from diverse ethnic backgrounds which help to inform her eclectic style. She believes that inspiration lays all around us and is always on the search for trinkets and treasures to design and make jewelry with and never tires from the thrill of digging up treasures from all four corners of the globe. This eventually led to a desire to go back to school full-time to expand her skill set and become a goldsmith back in 2013. Since graduating, Laborde jewelry has been a full-time endeavor.
