Wholesale Antique naturalistic ceramic bouquet vase – flowering branch decoration – circa 1930

There are objects that seem straight out of an old garden. This ceramic flower holder is one of them. It is designed like a small botanical scene, a stylized trunk set on four feet, from which four tubes emerge to hold flowers. Around it, branches and raised flowers appear to climb and open as in spring. Each tube allows for a different stem to be placed. You don't compose a tight bouquet here, but rather a few chosen flowers, as was done long ago on parlor tables or sideboards. The glaze mixes deep pink, ivory and touches of green, giving the whole a very lively appearance. This type of flower holder was particularly appreciated in the 1920s–1930s, when naturalistic ceramics imitating wood and plants were very fashionable.
