Silky Yellow: Boro Inspired Quilt Hand Sewn With Vintage Japanese Fabric , Silky Yellow: Boro Inspired, Hand Sewn, vintage Japanese fabric, Organic muslin backing. I have groups of fabrics based on color or pattern or texture that I pre-select for a potential quilts. When the time is right, I pull them onto my table and try to understand how they want to come together. This particular grouping started as one thing and then the yellow squares came into the field from a different grouping and made the whole composition pop. Once I saw the yellow start to interact with the rest, I knew they should be primary in the composition. This quilt works to warm a lap, or shoulders or can go on a wall. The yellow is silk but the rest are cottons and linens with an organic muslin backing. I have washed all the fabrics before piecing it together and then afterwards, as well. Use cold water and hang dry. I lay all my textile pieces on a railing to dry.
