Despite its success, it is not produced in as large volumes as planifolia because it needs more sunlight and does not thrive in the same places. The hybrid Pompona from Madagascar is particularly impressive: very long (on average 23cm), black and oily. Its notes of ripe fruit, licorice and undergrowth transport us. Particularly interesting for professionals because the processing yield is more attractive, one pod of pompona is more than equivalent to 2 to 4 pods of planifolia. It is an ally of choice for making sauces and creams and is suitable for desserts as well as meats. It has a wider aromatic palette than Planifolia but offers a guaranteed taste journey.
