Handwoven from local swampgrass in the lowlands of coastal Togo, West Africa this baskets is the natural color of the straw, woven with an equal quantities of straw dyed red, green and blue to make this the perfect African Christmas basket. This basket is not a replica: it is a one of a kind product, originally made for local tribal use. The Mina people in this area of Africa use this basket to carry just about anything they need to carry, to store items and to keep items available in markets for sale. All of the baskets of this type that we have vary in design and size slightly but all are variations on the same Christmas colors theme. This basket is 13 3/4" tall x 10 1/2" diameter opening at the top x 12" wide at the widest point.
