About The Niger Bend

I started our business after 5 years of living abroad, 2 of which were in the Peace Corps. After a year in West Africa I decided to concentrate on the best quality authentic African objects for home decor and jewelry. Now, 40 years later, I still work with all of the people across West and East Africa with whom I've established close personal relationships. We expanded into Southeast Asia and now have a comparable network of relationships there as well. We love the people we work with, the work we do, the world we work in. The people we work with are our partners as well as our teachers through whom we have learned all we know now about the vast areas we work in.Read their story
