Sometimes the simplest sets are the ones that best tell the story of a table. This semi-porcelain set bears the Céranord mark, a manufactory established in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux in northern France. Heir to a long northern faience tradition, Saint-Amand produced tableware designed to last—solid in substance, never stingy with elegance in its decoration. The heraldic lion on the back is its discreet and proud signature. At the center of each piece, a gallant scene: figures in period costume, a moment suspended in an imaginary garden, a gentle, narrative atmosphere directly inspired by the masters of the 18th century. This type of decoration, much prized in the 1950s–1970s, reflects a popular taste for beautiful, affordable tableware—pieces that put poetry on ordinary tables. The yellow rim, slightly worn, is highlighted with a gold band that catches the light discreetly. The two dessert plates (about 19/20 cm) naturally pair with the larger dish (about 23/24 cm), forming a coherent and presentable set. Good overall condition, with age-consistent wear to the gilding.
